100 NSHSS members gathered on Friday, October 25th, and Saturday, October 26th for the NSHSS Member Event 2019 at St. Jude in Memphis, TN. Students were given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, hear from ALSAC employees, and tour the campus.

The NSHSS Member Event 2019 took place in Memphis, Tennessee, on Friday, October 25th, and Saturday, October 26th, where 100 NSHSS members gathered for an engaging and inspiring experience at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. During this two-day event, students had the unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills and gain valuable insights into the fields of philanthropy and healthcare. Through a series of dynamic workshops and interactive sessions, students were encouraged to enhance their personal and professional growth, focusing on leadership development and community involvement.


Attendees were also treated to an inspiring visit to the St. Jude campus, where they learned about the hospital's mission to advance cures for pediatric catastrophic diseases. They had the opportunity to hear firsthand from ALSAC (American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities) employees about the impactful work being done at St. Jude and how the organization raises funds to support the hospital's life-saving research and treatments. The event offered students a deeper understanding of the importance of giving back to their communities and the power of collective action in driving positive change.


In addition to the inspiring talks and educational activities, the event provided an excellent opportunity for NSHSS members to network with like-minded peers from across the country, share experiences, and build lasting connections that could support their academic and professional journeys. The NSHSS Member Event 2019 in Memphis left students feeling motivated and equipped with new skills, experiences, and a broader understanding of the value of leadership and service in today's world.
